Boat registration question?

For those that have motors on you rig how do you attache the sticker? I called ND game & fish and they weren't real sure. I think next weekend I'll ask the officers on the river lf stickering the frame would be acceptable.

I think you'll find that the letters and numbers are too big to fit well around your frame and still be visible. I got a couple of pieces of white plexiglas, maybe 4 x 12" and attached the numbers directly to the plates, making sure I had enough room for the yearly sticker as well. I drilled small holes thru the corners and ran thin line from the holes to some snap hooks that I attach to the frame. That has worked for about 10 years now.
Peace,
the Capt

As the capt said, the req'd letter size will be too big to fit on the frame.

I put mine on piece of PVC raft material and hang that off the frame when the motor is on.

I used thin plywood, painted on the numbers, applied varnish over that and left room for the sticker on the proper end. I too attach it with rope from the corners.

I used pieces cut from an old Kayak to do mine years ago, but the pvc rectangles fold up for storage much nicer; thanks Zach.

Here I thought I was pretty smart with my plexiglas thing and the other replies that followed were all better than mine. PVC, Plywood and Kayak pieces. If I need to do it again, I think I'll do the PVC thing of which I have a piece or three.
The open exchange of ideers, ain't it a wonderful thing?
Peace,
the Capt

Thanks for some good ideas. I was a little concerned about it not being permanent but it appears that it's no big deal.

No one up here has ever questioned the "not so permanent" nature of plywood attached with cord. In fact I just came in from affixing the '15 stickers so we can stick the motor on for the Snake Lake at the end of our Boundary to Heller trip. Whoop, whoop final count down for 300+ miles of Salmon River glory.
