USGS river data tutorial please!!

Would one of you much smarter than me please help me and perhaps another learn how to search for a specific historic date on the usgs site. Iam missing something (or alot). My wife and I paddled a creek on june 19th last year and I forgot the flow. It would be better at x amount for me and I ve been trying to search what it was but allways end up with "current conditions" when I enter dates. Thank you if you help!

There are at least 3 different sites that all show graphs from the USGS numbers, so you need to be in one that allows you to pick dates.

I use the waterdata.usgs.gov site to pick specific dates. For example, the Gallatin:
https://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv?06043500

Will show me this past week:

I boated on 4/23/19, so I pick a range of a few days earlier and later.
click 'GO'

It gives me a redirect page because I was looking for data more than 120 days old

Then refreshes to show me a graph of the days I input:

The Northwest River Forecast Center has a really cool flow prediction algorithm, but I have not yet found its equivalent for the Missouri Basin Forecast Center (including the Gallatin and everything East of the divide:
https://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/river/station/flowplot/flowplot.cgi?lid=WGCM8

Can't select past dates with it.

This is the 3rd page:
https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydr...tfx&gage=glgm8

Works for east side rivers, uses the same data, and includes a forecast, but doesn't show it in CFS or allow you to select past dates.

FYI - the NOAA RFC pages get their present and past data from USGS gages. NOAA only provides the future predictions. Going direct to the USGS NWIS site - waterdata.usgs.gov - is much more reliable. MT4Runner's posts are right on the money.
