Keep the water in the Poudre

Help stop Thornton from dewatering the Poudre. Please read over what the Save the Poudre Save The Poudre – Help us save the Poudre from the NISP/Glade Reservoir folks have to say and take a moment to let the Larimer County Commissioners know what you think.
Thank You

Interesting. Has save the Poudre, or anyone else looked at how the water would be diverted off the river further downstream? Is there an existing headgate that can be utilized or would Thronton have to create a new one (and thus deal with environmental permitting)? Also, I would assume one major draw of taking it higher up is the use of the existing reservoirs as a forebay to store the peaks diverted off the reservoir and thus lower the maximum pumping rate required to move the water south. Has Save the Poudre, or anyone else suggested an alternative further downstream?
