Fire Bans in Effect

No matter where you are, even if you don't see any signs, it's probably best to assume there's a fire ban in effect wherever you are. I talked with a guy earlier today, who was camping and biking up on Guanella Pass this weekend, and said his crew got nailed with a $1,000 fine for having a campfire.

Be careful out there, not just because of LEOs looking to pop someone, but there's lots of dry tinder in them thar hills just waiting for a match.

Also, read the details for ALL the things that are banned beyond campfires and/or open flames, etc. for each level.

I was up car camping and target shooting thinking I was doing it all right with no fires, brought in cold dinners, etc. but shooting FMJ type bullets are on that list, too at Level 3.

No ticket from the sheriff who stopped into my camp.

I sure felt stupid though.

So read it ALL before making plans.
