Gore Canyon Race & Closures at Confluence and Pumphouse

This weekend is going to be a very busy one on the Upper Colorado River. The Gore Race is scheduled to start with the SUP race on Friday at 7pm at Pumphouse. Saturday is the main event and there are some closures you need to be aware of.

*Launch 3 area, group campsites, and individual sites south of Launch 3 at Pumphouse will be closed to the public starting at 1 pm on Friday, August 23rd and will closed until 12 pm on Sunday, August 25th.

*Confluence Road (Gore Canyon put-in) will be closed just past the little temporary parking/take-out for the Blue River from 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday, August 24th.

Yarmony Grass takes place on Saturday and Sunday mostly at State Bridge Lodge and Rancho del Rio. The river will be VERY busy from Pumphouse down to Two Bridges and beyond (we are expecting many private boaters to move downriver this weekend to avoid both these events).

All boat launches will be more crowed that usual and everyone needs to work together to make it work. We will have all our staff out but it is a big river and we won't be able to be everywhere when needed. We appreciate you all helping us to make it a great weekend for everyone!

Please contact me with questions or concerns.

Three days until the Gore Race; I was looking at lighting last night and realize that 7:00 pm is going to be cutting it a bit close on daylight for the start of the SUP race Friday night. I am thinking we should shoot for a 6:45 pm start. Any thoughts?
Also, we will have some extra SUP's available for those of you that want to race and don't have a board; if you want to reserve a board send me an email; [email protected]. Still looking for safety volunteers and timers!!??
