CPR/First Aid by boaters for boaters
Raftfix is sponsoring CPR and First Aid class from top notch medical professionals, Details below...
Stop putting it off! So many of us mean to take that CPR/ First Aid class yet it slips by year after year.
Are you ready for the 2015 boating season? The warm weather has definitely gotten me excited to start some trip planning. In preparation for another whitewater year, knowing how to take care of injuries and emergencies on the river is a must! You owe it to yourself, your friends and your family to know what to do if an incident occurs. Get CPR and First Aid Certified from an American Heart Association certified instructor and get help putting together your own personal first aid kits. Bring a friend so they can save you!
The 6 hour course will include adult and child CPR and AED training as well as infant CPR. The first aid portion will include the basics of first aid, medical emergencies (choking, heart attacks, low blood sugar levels), injury emergencies (bleeding, wounds, spine injuries, broken bones), and environmental emergencies (bites and stings, temperature emergencies, and poison emergencies). Your can expect a video presentation by the AHA (required) , hands on practice, and the opportunity to get feedback or ask questions from active outdoor savvy, boater ICU nurses who are also Advance Wilderness Life Support and WFR trained and deal daily with the type of accidents that surround us on the river.
The cost of the full course will be $75.00 or $40.00 for CPR or First Aid only.
Class will be held Sunday May 17th at Raftfix in Wheat Ridge (1 mile from Down River Equipment) from 9:00 am-3:30 pm. CPR will start at 9:00 and First Aid will start at 12:30. (Private group classes are also available for a mimimum or 4 people).
Send me an email, text or give me a call if you are interested. This will be a great opportunity to learn some excellent skills and ensure you have all of the tools and confidence you need to deal with any mishaps you my encounter.
Oh, and if you have any good permits lined up, we’re great to have along
