Any kayaker moms out there know about diastasis (ab split from pregnancies, results in the mommy gut since your abs aren't holding in your stomach) and paddling? I just had my second baby 3 months ago and have paddled a couple of times this season. I fear that paddling will make the gap/diastasis bigger. On reading up on the subject, you're not supposed to do obliques, which is pretty much all you do when paddling! I fear I am going to have to stop paddling until the ab gap is closed (next season?) Just wondering if any of you moms out there have had experience with this. I hear that the bigger the gap is, the longer it will take to fix (with exercises to strengthen the transverse abs).
