Speaking of Cool Kids... check out the Cool Kids outta chicago if you want some tight rap ("the new black version of the beastie boys") along with Kid Sister, Miami Horror, Salem, Santogold, Paul Devro, John Holt, Major Lazer, and Diplo above and beyond. My music taste is exceedingly awesome so you should prob. do your research and listen up.

That's not a sign, that's just shitty luck. Hope you get back to it some day. Now if lightning came through the window and hit your amp, well, that's maybe a sign.....

I created a Pandora station with all the bands mentioned above, or at least the ones that I wasn't real familiar with. Kind of a weird mix of styles but it's been putting out some interesting songs all day while I've been working. Named it buzzard radio, I think it's open to a search on Pandora. I skipped James Brown, figured his catalog would dominate the play list and I wanted to hear the others.

Jennifer - here's one back to you, one of my new favorites. Rodrigo y Gabriela covering Stairway to Heaven

I was in the same fix. The sound card on my computer quit and since I had some big projects to finish I let it go un-fixed for a long time.

But I got it jacked in and have been geeking around MySpace and the Net soaking up the nuevo.

Pick Hits: E Pa Pa, Song from the Love Dance (Mystic Diversions), Two Weeks, He Hit Me (Grizzly Bear), Until We Bleed, I'm Good-I'm Gone (Lykke Li), Twitchy Organs (Nico Muhly), Be Mine -live and various mixes-, and album sampler (Robyn), What Have I Done and Summer Rain (Anna Ternheim), Matariki (Ariana Tikao). I'm recently fond of Neko Case, but wish she'd lose the excess reverb: killer voice but it sounds like she's singing in an empty swimming pool.

I don't fancy any particular style- but it has to be good.

There is a lot of music out that is old..that most people will NEVER hear because it was NEVER popular...

If you like rockin fusion type stuff...

Eumir Deodato (pretty much anything by this guy is great..he is the one to credit for Phish's version of Also Sprach Zarathustra or 2001)

Mahavishnu Orchestra - Inner Mounting Flame

Return to Forever

John McLaughlin - This is hit or miss..the old stuff is rippin...then he got real easy listening Jazzy...he was the guitarist for Mahavishnu and I think was the guitarist on Miles's bitches brew sessions

Jeff Beck - Pretty much anything by him...AMAZING guitarist..check out his version of "While my guitar gently weeps" incredible

More straight ahead type music...

Morphine - One of my favorite bands ever...that most people have never heard of...sax, slide bass and drums...and these guys move a shit ton of air!

Stanton Moore - Think he is the drummer for Galactic? But I love his solo records...incredible..definately check out Flying the Koop

As for new stuff...check out

The New Mastersounds
Animal Collective - Live = Awesome Studio - no idea
The Black Crowes - New album in my opinion is their best yet
Band of Horses - pretty sure this is 4 guys..moving a whole lot of air
My Morning Jacket - Not that new...but again..a lot of people dont know them
Broken Social Scene - Not that new..but worth checking out...
Built to Spill - Not new at all...but to most people it is..
Robert Walters - Not new either but if you dont know him..check em out

If you want more just ask...this should be a good start though
