Shantaram

Has anyone else read Shantaram? Holy shit - best novel I've ever picked up. If anyone is looking for a good off-season book, be careful, it's addictive!

I read it some years ago. I remember it was far better than I expected. Anyone who likes novels should give it a go.

+1 to being one of the best novels I've read in a long time. Sadly there were rumors a little ways back of it being turned into a movie. I can't imagine capturing its essence in 2 hours. Hope the rumors are wrong.

Great book! I wonder how much of that actually went down and how much is blown way out of proportion, if not outright fabricated.

Well, it is a novel, but Roberts did escape from prison and work with the Bombay goondas...
