"No more Socialist remark has ever been uttered by a US President"

Milton Friedman opened one of his books with a quote and then this sentence. Anyone know who he was talking about and what remark it was? Kudos if you know the year as well. If you find the answer with google thats cheating lets see if anyone knows off the top of their head!

I just feel like stirring the pot a little bit tonight we'll see if anyone knows off the top of their head.

Lots of presidents would've been run out of town by today's neocons. Nixon's health care plan would've been much more liberal than Clinton's proposal in the 90s.

Look at all the commies that have infiltrated our highest office or other posts in capitalism:

Here's a little tidbit that came my way:

Jesus Christ. Loosen up, its just a little fun and don't be such a dick all the time.

By the way, it was about JFK in the first chapter of his book Capitalism and Freedom in response to "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."

He also said Nixon was the most socialist president besides FDR.

That quote can be traced back to the philosophy of the Romans: Stoicism.
didn't work badly for them, overall, particularly between the 3rd century BCE and the 1st century CE.

Now quit swinging your purses in anger.

Like I said "I felt like stirring the pot a little" Which for those who don't know what that means, I was just messing with you. Its like playing devil's advocate except more meaningless.

umm, yeah--how is "doing for your country" and "not asking of your country" so socialist? I gotta tell you straight up Kevin--to me, your conception of responsibility is skewed beyond belief, perhaps even non-existant --I know staunch extreme libertarians who have a better understanding of rights and responsibility than you

And I don't care that "Friedman said it"
