JUSTICE?

Spanish judge Baltazar Garzon recently accepted a complaint in his court regarding the torture of seven Spanish nationals at Guantanamo bay. This is a first step in an attempt at the prosecution of Bush administration officials in Spanish court, such as Alberto Gonzales and John Yoo. Since the United States has an extradition treaty with Spain we may see some interesting international fireworks that could prove especially embarassing for the GOP. Read the article here:

It's already been totally discredited and will have 0 impact. I find it completely amazing that all of you Obama supporters totally look past his continued support of almost every Bush policy. Let's see, pretty much on Bushes schedule in Iraq(leaving 50,000 troops behind), adding more troops to Afganistan(exactly what Bush intended to do, he has continued to claim executive privledge based on national national security and the Patriot Act is in FULL EFFECT. About the only thing that has changed is that he is blaming America for everything bad on the planet. Bunch of BS, vote for someone other than the BIG 2 and maybe just maybe, there would be "real" change.

Thanks yarmony for bringing us up to date. Glad to know you have such a pulse on world politics.

Please tell me which commentator on Fox News/AM Radio told you that this would have 0 impact?

I agree, Bush would never stand trial or be imprisoned, but any trial has an impact.

And if Obama is supporting as you say every policy (laughable that you would actually have the nuts to write that) what are are all you Bush supports crying about?????

Here's one for ya didn't Obama just allow Federal Funding for Stem Cell Research?? Last I checked the Compassionate Conservative was against that.

Think a little before you post. I know you must be getting antsy down in your fallout shelter, maybe it is safe to venture out.

The complaints were not leveled against Bush or Cheney, only lower level administration figures, who in my opinion should be prosecuted under U.S. law. While an actual prosecution may be unlikely, the fact that the United States has an extradition treaty with Spain may make life a little uncomfortable in the near for these individuals. Remember Augusto Pinochet? This is the same judge using essentially the same tactics that made Pinochet's last 5 years on earth absolutely miserable. Besides being unable to find jobs because of their track records on moral integrity, these particular individuals may find themselves doggedly pursued by the Spaniards.

Mr. Beaver, you are as about as ill informed as any human being I have come across. You should consider learning more about your surroundings prior to opening your mouth. By the way, I skinned a few beavers the other day. Damn they stink.

Yarmony,
Fox news doesn't approach a fair balanced or even legitimate news source. There is a reason that the democratic party refused to allow Fox to cover both the debates and the convention. They have a long track record of misrepresenting facts and occasionally plain lying to support their agenda.

The same Spaniards who tucked tail and ran out of Iraq? The Spaniards who capitulated to AQ? Those Spaniards?

You realize that there is another way to look at the Spanish leaving Iraq: they realized the mistake of being there in the first place and didn't want to be involved in an ethnically based civil war. Remember, the Spanish have alot more recent experience with both civil war and dictators.

As for capitulating to Al Qaeda, many right wingers connect leaving Iraq to capitulating to Al Qaeda. The reality is that when the socialist party ran for office it promised to immediately withdraw troops from Iraq when it came into power. The fact that Al Qeada bombed the Madrid trains was an unfortunate coincidence, nothing more.
