Much like Jesse Jackson, she was at the right place at the right time when an assassination took place (Harvey Milk)

Exactly what are you saying? Military personel are instructed to address civilians and soldiers of higher rank as "ma'am" or "sir". The arrogant tone of this "senator" was uncalled for. The mans a general, he should have said, I would like to be called general from now on, I've worked hard for the title.

I'm retired from the Military and when addressing a Senator or Congressman I was always told to address them by their title. I guess I don't see what the hoopla is about. She asked him to address her as Senator and all he has to say is "Yes Senator" She addressed him by his title.

If it's the tone that makes it so outrageous well heck he's a General Officer and if he can't take the heat......

I actually do think it was VERY uncalled for and out of line and think she was trying to make herself feel important and trying to degrade the general in order to do so. I think he took the higher road by showing her grace.

I absolutely just cannot believe that an arrogant person with a big ego could get into the US Senate...

I'm sure there are no Republicans who fit that description, no sir, they've got to all be down to earth, regular kind of beer drinking, "can I help you change your oil?", kind of guys...
