Herding classes in CO

Anyone know of farms in Colorado that offer herding classes for dogs?

I have a 5 year old Bearded Collie that would probably benefit from these sort of classes.

I know this might spark the ever popular sheep discussions the 'Buzz is famous for, so I am ready to filter through them

Check out AKC's website: American Kennel Club - Herding

They have field trials for herding dogs...I'm sure you can find some info on where to find some trainers.

I have a friend with a border collie mix and the dog is permanently fixated on anything that moves or might move. When I visit it's a non stop game of frisbee, or catch with anything else I might throw for her. If you have a yard, rig up an automatic tennis ball thrower. The rhythmic action of chasing the ball, running up, and then back down the yard, will keep your mutt in shape for when the two of you are out herding sheep.

My Beardie is in pretty goo shape, she runs with me every morning (~3 miles) plus all the running she gets from chasing the tennis ball.

I've been thinking about getting an exercise ball or 2 for her to chase around the yard as a precursor to the herding classes. From those of you with herding/working dogs would that help with their mental stimulation/problem solving?

Just take the dog up to Eagle and wait for JD or Nate to show up. They know where the sheep are.
