End of Season Shenanigans

From the rager to the religious, how do you say farewell to another boating season? Long standing costumed float trip, bar crawl, gear haul, glue huffing?

Well, on my last trip down west water, last month( possibly my last trip of the year
I jumped over my passenger, into the last minor rapid of the trip, and abandoned ship.

The two previous seasons I ended by drinking beers at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, and then promptly started the next season on January first, by continuing on down the Grand Canyon. No such luck for me, to be there three years in a row.

Crap, this thought of not boating anymore this year is making me feel panicky and suffocated, got to start planning something stat!! Maybe float the daily section with some ice bergs or something....got to go put on my drysuite now, so that I feel better, see ya people.

There's a boating "season?"

I give thanks for year-round boating, think about what boat I'll take out if it starts raining ever again, and start thinking about permit season coming up.

I do get a little grumpy if I don't have a nice multi-day trip already on the calendar. Well, actually I'm just grumpy, so never mind.

I look back wistfully, go get a new tarp to cover the boat with and then pull the paddles and boating gear out of the roof box and put my skis and winter gear up there.
