Encouraging signs from Iran.

Interesting article on how students in Iran don't share the "Great Satan" view held by the hardliners. Many openly admire the USA. The big question is how to exploit this divide in Iran discretely...

Important demographic reality noted in the article:

Though not the only view, such young opinions are a major constituency in a country where 70 percent of the population is under 30. These youths have no personal memory of the revolution or the embassy siege. Instead, they are just living the results.

I have seen several travelogues from '' Tweaking the Nose of Terror''[ kayak vid] to Rick Steves where the people of Iran were exceptionally friendly and hospitable,and not at all hateful of us.If anything they blame the gov not the PEOPLE,i think a lot of us feel the same way towards them.When the Cold War generation fades from power relations will likely improve.Hopefully they will become more secular as the young attain power.
