Deliverance jokes, do they ever get old?

Seems like we can't have a thread around here without 'em. What do you think? I propose a thread dedicated just to Deliverance jokes, so when ever some one feels the need to post one they can, and likewise, whenever someone gets the urge to read that same joke one more time, they will always know where to look, and for the rest of us, we can just ignore it.

I like deliverance jokes so much I've got 2 "Paddle faster I hear banjo music" stickers on my car.

Without a doubt, the lamest, least creative boating jokes ever.

They're jokes? I thought something had to be funny to be a joke...

As an Appalachianite and an outdoors enthusiast I will say that all references made about that movie immediately annoy me beyond reason. I hear it SOOOO much anytime Im heading to the woods (which is all the time)...and yes I can't believe people still reference it like it's still funny.

It's reminiscent of when I'd be walking my Great Dane....EVERY FRIGGIN PERSON to come across us said one of 3 things: "Whose walking who?", "You got a saddle for that thing?" or "Nice horse!!"

...and every single one of them giggles like an idiot as if they think they made it up and that I've never heard it before. After about 8 years of that I got downright rude with those fools.

No. Appalachian and rural jokes aren't funny.

yes, but...

Just playing devil's advocate here. I rarely post on here and definitely don't have a 'horse in this race' so to speak but I'm bored today and thought I'd reply. While I agree that deliverance jokes are way outdated in the right context the do still make me smile. On one hand, in the right place at the right time the classics are enjoyable. More to the point though, I don't think I've heard a fresh, new joke about boating in 15 years or so. Whether it's about deliverance or raft guides or especially female raft guides, we need to come together as a community and develope some new material. There was a recent thread on here with a couple good jokes. That's my deep thought for today, think I'm going to go get a drink now
