BV in the "Off Season"

Planning on spending this Saturday afternoon/evening in BV after a day getting turns in at Monarch. Any suggestions for food and fun and lodging in BV during the none flow season?

Can only spend so much time perusing through CKS and Trailhead until the GF gets bored.

There is a "fat bike" rally this weekend. Some fun activities going on and live music at the Lariat.

Sat Feb 27:
7am-8am: Free Coffee from Brown Dog, Donuts from Loback's. Also burritos from Trailer Made Productions (burritos not free..bring some $$)
*updated for weather*
9AM: Cottonwood Pass ride from Denny Creek, with a little reception party on the top. (If for some reason snow/weather do not cooperate we'll choose an alternate route and activity in Fourmile and/or just get drunk.)
2:00PM-6:00PM: Apres-ride at the shop , with various contests and such (see below)
2:00-2:45PM: BIKE TOSS Competition @ Railroad Track Parking Lot (all competitions from here)
3:00PM-3:45PM: LIMBO
4:00-4:45: RAILROAD CRIT
5:00-5:30: SLOW RIDE/FOOT DOWN/WHEELIE Compeititon
5:30 - Critical Mass ride through town. Please bring blinky lights for night riding around town ending back by the Lariat. We want to play nice with the po-po....
6:00-8:00 Get some dinner at Asian Palate, House Rock Kitchen, or the Lariat you drunk. The night's just getting started...
8:00PM-1:00AM 'Biker' costume party and Live Music at the Lariat, with prizes and such, as well as some other shenanigans. Does "biker" mean spandex or leather vests? Tights or Chaps? Answer = Yes.
Sun Feb 28:
7am-NOON: Coffee, Donuts and Burritos from Trailer Made Productions at the shop.

As far as food I recommend the South Main Eddyline location, House Rock Kitchen, Asian Palate or Los Girasoles.

There are obvious lodging options like Best Western and Super 8, but my choices would be:

Vista Court Cabins - Buena Vista, Colorado

Welcome to Thunder Lodge - Buena Vista, Colorado

Hope that helps.

I really like the little sandwich shop inside the trailhead store on main st in the old road maintenance building.

it is good to BV creating more year round business and fun times.
