As we say farewell to the Decider...

...let us never forget his bold and inspiring words.

On Education:
"Rarely is the question asked, is our children learning?" — January 2000

On the human/fish ceasefire:
"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully." — September 2000

On making up cool new words:

"They misunderestimated the compassion of our country. I think they misunderestimated the will and determination of the commander in chief, too." — Sept. 26, 2001

On silly optimism:
"There's no doubt in my mind, not one doubt in my mind, that we will fail." — Oct. 4, 2001

On the mad scientists in the Senate basement:
"It would be a mistake for the United States Senate to allow any kind of human cloning to come out of that chamber." — April 10, 2002

On cleverly blending Chinese proverbs and Who lyrics:
"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." — Sept. 17, 2002

On the Bush/Cheney plan for America:
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." — Aug. 5, 2004

On the gyno/patient love crisis:

"Too many good docs are getting out of business. Too many OB/GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." — Sept. 6, 2004

On frozen credit markets:
"This thaw — took a while to thaw, it's going to take a while to unthaw." – Oct. 20, 2008

On his conversion to socialism:
"I've abandoned free market principles to save the free market system." – Dec. 16, 2008

On his unique ability to time-travel:
"I've been in the Bible every day since I've been the president." – Nov. 12, 2008

On geography:
"I didn't grow up in the ocean -- as a matter of fact -- near the ocean -- I grew up in the desert. Therefore, it was a pleasant contrast to see the ocean. And I particularly like it when I'm fishing." – Sept. 26, 2008

On his get-tough judicial philosophy:
"Anyone engaging in illegal financial transactions will be caught and persecuted." – Sept. 19, 2008

On his need for eyeglasses:
"First of all, I don't see America having problems." – Aug. 10, 2008

On White House security lapses:
"I remember meeting a mother of a child who was abducted by the North Koreans right here in the Oval Office." – June 26, 2008

On American manufacturing:
"And so the fact that they purchased the machine meant somebody had to make the machine. And when somebody makes a machine, it means there's jobs at the machine-making place." – May 27, 2008

On getting away with murder:
"I'll be long gone before some smart person ever figures out what happened inside this Oval Office." – May 12, 2008

On energy policy:
"Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gas? ... That's interesting. I hadn't heard that." – Feb. 28, 2008

anybody else notice that the leader of the Colorado republicans is named Dick Wad hams, very appropriate

wait 'til the Paraguayans hear W try to speak Spanish,I'd pay good money to witness that. Why is it republicans butcher other languages so badly? My theory is that they have so little respect for other cultures that they do it deliberately as an insult, act like the other language is dumb ,when the reality is they are too dumb to learn it.Bear that in mind the next time you hear their 'English only' bullshit.

random rant ...have had a couple drinks ...started thinking about w and darth cheney[ they don't deserve capitalization, that'll learn 'em ] got irritated...imagine that....I really like this Milo punctuation.

Couldn't agree with you more. George Bush is a figure of international douchebaggery on a level with Slobodan Milosovich. People die in economic depressions too beacause they don't have enough to eat, cant get medical care or don't have someplace to live. All said and done, Bush's body count from our current DEPRESSION and the DUMB ASS NEVER HAD A POINT WAR might just be higher!
Thank god the Republican party so successfully hijacked our religion and scared us shitless in order to get elected. Thank god for their wonderful, enlightened leadership, it really set the United States on the right path in the world. Thank god REAGAN INTRODUCED CRACK INTO L.A. (CIA and Contras cocaine trafficking in the US - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). That certainly improved the lives of Americans.

I for one think the last eight years were well worth it, for without them we would have missed out on such great election puns as "Plant a Bush back in Texas," "Nobody died when Clinton lied," and "Yes to Trees, No to Bush!"

That has always been my favorite, too. But soon, the village (Dallas) won't be missing their idiot anymore. Thank God

The folks in the village of Crawford will still be missing their idiot, since he is hanging up his spurs (oops, he's afraid of horses) and moving to the village of Preston Hollow near Dallas. Interestingly, his new village had a covenant until 2000 that said only white people were allowed to live there, though an exception was made for servants. The document, enacted in 1956,reads: "Said property shall be used and occupied by white persons only except these covenants shall not prevent occupancy by domestic servants of different race or nationality in the employ of a tenant."

Take that, Mr. Magic Negro President!

Just in case there are still Bush-o-philes who believe he was a rootin' tootin' Texas cowboy rancher, they should take note: it was a Karl Rove sham that no longer has any purpose since Bushman will never be elected to anything ever again.

Hey now, I've seen actual pictures of Jr. cutting brush on his ranch, I think there might have been a horse in the background somewhere, and I'm pretty sure Dick had a shotgun and a "gleam" in his eye. If that's not a real Texas cowboy, then what on God's good earth is?

Yeah, he used a hardware store home-handyman Homelite saw to lop a 4" branch off a tree that some Secret Service guys dropped. And then, laughably, he let out his best rendition of a Good Ol' Boy whoop when he successfully cut that big ol' branch. His chainsaw "technique" screamed, "Connecticut Cowboy Poseur."

At least Reagan, who inspired the Rove "gotta get you a ranch" ploy, actually knew how to split firewood without cutting off his foot!

I guess I'm one of those Liberal Elitists who heats his house with wood and actually knows how to use a frickin' chainsaw. Hell, I even have a coupla cowboy hats. Don't wear the damned boots anymore. They hurt my feet.
