Ski advice

My wife and I just moved to the Denver area, and she is looking at buying some skis more suited to local conditions than her aging 67 mms under the boot Head skis. She's almost entirely a front side skier, but wants something that will float a little better in fresh snow than what she's got. Should she consider extra length as well as extra width? How much, bearing in mind that, as a Southern gal, she's a relatively inexperienced skier, and is happiest cruising blues, although she will try the odd black, if it's not too bumpy. She's also fairly athletic and likely to get better in spite of herself.
I'm trying to stay out of it because the last time I gave her advice, I suggested longer skis and they made her sad. Shorter worked better, but that was before tip rocker.
She also prefers skis on the flex end of things.
Any help is appreciated.

Rocker makes the effective edge short, so you can have a longer ski the floats, but performs like a shorter ski in hard pack. I'd look for a flat tail, rocker tip ski, 90-100 mm side cut, that are quite not as long (tall) as she is.

Thanks. That's about what we did.

Bought some demos at a local ski shop. So far, she's happy.
