Friends of Berthoud Pass - Avalanche Lecture

By popular demand, another avy lecture. | Friends of Berthoud Pass

Friends of Berthoud Pass, in association with the University of
Denver Alpine Club, is proud to continue our low cost FREE, high
quality avalanche awareness courses for the 2009-‘10 season.

On February 17, 2010 in Sturm Hall room 454 at the University
of Denver, Bob Tomsky, aka ‘Bobski’, the former Berthoud Pass
Ski Patrol Avalanche Training Director, will provide backcountry
travelers with an overview of avalanche awareness, avoidance,
rescue and forecasting methods and skills.

Topics such as route selection, hazard minimization, best
practices, preparedness and terrain analysis will be covered in a
3-hour classroom presentation.

The course is open to the public for free but a $5 or $10 donation is appreciated.

The class runs from 7:00pm until approximately 10:00pm.

Contact Friends of Berthoud Pass (berthoudpass.org) or DU
Alpine Club (dualpineclub.org) with any questions.
