Formation of a Cameron Pass BSA Chapter

There is a group of backcountry skiers that is forming a Northern Front Range Chapter of BSA. If you’re not familiar with BSA it is a backcountry advocacy organization that helps to protect non-motorized recreation, here is the website: Backcountry Snowsports Alliance

There has been a dramatic increase in snowmobile use at Cameron Pass, along the Michigan ditch, and in the Neota Wilderness over the last two seasons. Our hope with forming a local chapter of BSA is to provide a voice for those that enjoy quite winter recreation and help develop better management in the Cameron Pass and Never Summer area for winter motorized and non-motorized recreation.

However, its boating season and most people aren’t looking at Powderbuzz, Teletips, or thinking skiing. So I need your help with getting the word out.

If you are interested in more information on joining BSA or simply knowing more about issues in the Cameron Pass area please let me know.

You can email me at: ryan.miller “at” rsmiller “dot” net (gotta stick it to the spammers)

Once there is a group of interested people we’ll have an information meeting for charter members - sometime midsummer.

Thanks!

Ryan Miller
