I got a chance to paddle the new Jackson Villain prototype in Lyons today. Not much water, but I got to get a feel for the boat, and I was impressed. For the record my only affiliation with Jackson is owning their playboats, so I think I am relatively unbiased. I paddled a Rocker a few times and the Villain is MUCH more responsive. It also felt allot faster while still being super stable. I was also impressed with how quick and snappy the Villain rolls, but the secondary stability is so good that this is almost a moot point. The prototype was the Villain S, which is the smaller model. I am 5-10, 160lbs, and the boat was super comfortable and easy to adjust.
I was impressed enough that my name is now on the waiting list with Confluence Kayaks for the first production model Villain to show up. Can't Wait!!
Big thanks to The Craw.
