Self bailing floor pressure loss

I have an older Hyside that is a pretty bomber boat, but one issue it has always had is that the floor goes soft after about 1 day. Is this normal for self bailing floors? I've replaced the PRV, and checked the inflation valve for leaks and everything is OK. I'm guessing it's leaking around the perimeter seam. I can't find any punctures. This first floor it had leaked like a sieve and was replaced under warranty.

It's no big deal to pump it up again, but I was curious if this was typical. How often are you guys reinflating floors?

PRV leaking....help

Hey guys, My SB floor has a very small leak where the edge of the pressure release valve meet the floor. I am not sure how to fix it and would appreciate any advice. Here's a pic of where the leak is coming from:

LOL.....no I don't have a valve wrench! Trying to find something laying around that will work.

Get a wrench, unscrew, clean with 303, then tighten.

Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

Good luck.

Well I got it off no problem with a home made wrench.

So I have the valve, then the hypalon, then the nut in the floor. Are there no rubber washers or anything?

I would think it would need rubber washers but it has never leaked until now.

Does it have the relief valve. During the day the floor heats up, making the air expand and air leaks out. Over nite the air cools. Taking up less volume. yes the nexy AM the boat will be soft and soggy.

Well I took some pics in case someone else is doing the same repair. Turn counterclockwise and the valve comes out(1st pic). There is a nut in the floor(2nd pic). Be careful not to lose this nut in the floor.

I run Hysides commercially and like all inflatable floors they will require some pumping the next morning. If you run sediment laden rivers the dirt will also build up in the PRV over time. If it is a Leefield valve you can take the PRV out and rinse it out with clean water and blow it out with your pump (shouldn't have to do this too often). This will help stop a leaky PRV.
