Rear Fishing Seat Options

Howdy-

I purchased my first raft last summer. Yup, getting into the joys of winter boat work. I have a 14' RMR self bailer, with a NRS Bighorn II frame. My winter project is to add a rear fishing seat and anchor system. I'm curious if the standard NRS option is the way to go, or if someone else is making a better option.

Thanks!

Bob

AAA makes 1 1/4 rear seat/floor/anchor setups that are pretty cool, but NRS is the easiest solution, and makes adding the anchor easy. since you already have the nrs frame, I'd just go the path of least resistance and use the NRS rear end. I subbed speedrail fittings on the frame side to make removing the rear end easier, and put a seat quick release under the action seat so it breaks down easy.

If you want a more custom look, order the parts undrilled and you can angle the rear bars to follow the curve of the boat.

One of the best things I ever bought for my raft was a stern frame which doubles as my rear seat during fishing season. In the spring it allows me to take Noobs down the river paddleboat style with great control. Has the perfect mounting bar for the anchor system when you slide the side rails together. Most useful money I ever spent on the frame.

Thanks for the advice. MTTodd, which company did you choose on your stern seat?

NRS, found it used here on the buzz. I can shoot you some pics when I get back home this weekend. If you don't mind getting it coated I could bend you up one up from aluminum I have laying around the shop for cheap. Not much of a project.
