I swam a couple years ago on the royal gorge in late December. There was a few inches of slush on top of the water and I was wearing the bibs without socks.
One; I did not notice my feet being cold
Two; the bibs probably saved my life that day. The bibs were an after thought, I have never even rolled on that run. But got lackadaisical and flipped hit a rock and fell half outta my boat. At the take out I thanked my buddy for the use of his bids and added "they were a life saver" we all laughed because it was true.
