Pyranha Micro 240

Good evening,
I would like some input from anyone with experience with the Pyranha Micro 240. I'm new to whitewater kayaking. I was able to purchase a Micro 240 w/i my budget. I failed to realized that the boat was missing the black cover on its bow. I plan to only do river running (Class II & III primarily, IV only if water levels are high). As I look at pictures of other Micros, I see the black cover. My question, will the boat's structure will severly compromise by the missing bow cover. Thank you for your opinion.

The Micro was designed for abuse in creeks. That cap was to be able to take a lot of hits and scrapes without the hull structure taking the damage. If the hull is water tight you will be good. The plastic is old and likely on more susceptible to damage than brand new but if you stay in II-III and juicy IV you should be fine.

Glenn & Mike,
Thank you for the replies. Yes, the hull is in good condition. Luckily, the previous owner did not use it very much.

Paddled that boat for years, good creeker! the cap is like the bumper on a car, it'll deflect cats and small children but a moose will still mess you up. Old Pyranha plastic was great, I buckled my boat during a pin in CA and stomped it back into shape, no oil can or nothing.

Because it's an older boat the plastic might still be fragile, regardless of usage. Just make sure the price is right (I sold mine for $200, 4 years ago)

Oh boy! I paid $180. I was supposed to get a sprayskirt with it, but the one I was given did not fit the cockpit. I've communicated with previous owner. He is looking for the correct sprayskirt. Hope he finds it. Thanks
