Proper boat storage question

Currently I'm storing my boat in the garage, off the ground, suspended between 2 padded folding chairs. Is this bad? I figured it's better than directly on concrete. One chair is a the bow, one at the stern. Middle is not supported and suspends freely.

What you have described works well for most boats, dagger, and liquid logic.

I find that prijon and eskimo prefer to be layed into a hammock.

wave sport says to ship the boat to ecuador for winter storage

and a jackson must be kept in a humidor at specific humidity and tempature in order to get multiple seasons out of it.

I hope this helps, colorado boat storage can vary from what most folks do.

In all seriousness what you said is fine.

The idea is to keep weight off it, and out of the sun.

you can hang it from straps tight to the ceiling of your garage also.

i like to sit in mine in the living room in the off season, it stays on the sofa untill it can find a place.

Lol. I guess I have to put my boat in a humidor. Do you remember offhand what the specific humidity is? Will I have to sacrifice additional virgins before winter storage?

you can store modern plastic boats slung, suspended by the straps, or as you do. They are pretty tough. If you are talking about an open canoe, be more cautious. They easily collapse under snow, or warp or twist, and they are more costly than a tupperware kayak

The proper way to store your plastic kayak is vertically, on its stern. If you store it horizontal on a flat surface, the hull will potentially oil can. You could also stress the hull by suspending it on the ends. This is especially true if your garage gets hot in the summer. If you have a creek boat, you are going to trash it anyway, so it won't matter how you store it. I thought Jackson kayaks had to have their own bed and down comforter. That and some super cool music or they start to rust.

Looking this up, I also found on its side is also acceptable. Just not flat.
