Playboat footwear?

Hey Buzzards,

So getting sick of wearing my old NRS booties in my playboat and thinking of upgrading to something with more support if possible. I wear a size 11-11.5 bootie and was looking at the Astral loyak's but not sure how that shoe would fit in a playboat, even a large playboat that I paddle. Any advice would be appreciated on what you guys find to be the best shoe/bootie.

I have Loyak's and I am deeply displease with wear. I got them late june 2015 and retired the in october 2015. They are beat up!

the sole sticks to slippery rocks as advertised, the are super comfy, I love them while I had them. I will probably get a new pair. I had two nasty swims and they stayed on.

Oh yes, They are small and super lite. I usually wear a 9 and I fit a 10 in the Loyak. They don't dry very fast.

Girls think their stylish. No shit! I can't tell ya how many ppl asked about them...

I've been progressively playboating for about 6 years.

It took me that long to figure out to go barefoot and create an awesome foot block with a pita pocket all around my feet.

as the foam packs out each season i add to it and tear out the old. it takes upkeep but has been the saving grace.

my booties slid around and made my feet uncomfortable. shoes put my seat too far back.

a down side is that if you swim, or have to get out of your boat to help others you might need a shoe.

I make a point to only playboat barefoot. I dont plan on swimming and i can still help others from my boat.

and the best thing ive learned in playboating was the foam heel block. i rest my heels on a thick foam block and my toes float 90% of the time. its amazing.

@bob, The loyak actually is smaller than NRS booties and the sole sticks to plastic like super glue. Plus when ya need to walk you don't need to hop back to the wave in a peta. The shoe is actually pretty sick for play boating. I haven't foamed the nose of my play boats for years. Like 2005 of something. I really didn't know ppl still do that. Go kayakoutfitting dot com!

in a playboat with size 12 feet I stick with booties I try to get ones with thin soles. shoes just dont cut it way to big and uncomfortable in a playboat

I just want to make sure that flipper and Bob know what shoe we are taking about.

The loyak is smaller and liter that NRS booties.

Astral Men's Loyak Water Shoe at nrs.com

I think that I still that may have the loyaks in a bin. I'll fine them and picture them next to booties. Things have changed in the last couples years.
