PFD for bigger kids (kayaking)

Looking for some ideas on the best fitting kayaking PFD for my almost 9 year old (4'10"/96 lbs) who has outgrown the Astral Otter.

I picked up a Stohlquist Escape in women's XS/S and was disappointed to see how thick it was across the front - much bulkier than what I was expecting, though it is a basic entry level PFD. He also tried a Astral Abba in size small and that was way too big. His older brother is currently using a Kokatat MisFit size small but his brother is 2 years older, taller, and slightly heavier so even that PFD won't fit him well.

Any ideas/suggestions on a PFD that is larger than the Otter yet smaller than women's size small PFDs?

I like the Extrasport Inlet Jr. for its ease and fit.
The Kokatat Aries is easy to modify to add/remove foam too.
