Patching Urethane?

I've got a 98 Headwaters hypalon boat with some urethane coating on the bottom and sides. during my last cleaning and 303 session with it I found a small pinhole on the bottom of a tube. trouble is that this tiny hole is on the edge of a wear spot in the urethane coating, basically one side of the patch will be on hypalon and the other on the urethane. Does anybody have experience with this? Do I need any special glues or will shore adhesive work just as well on the urethans as the hypalon?

Shore won't work very well. Get yourself some Stabond or LA4123

Its winter. order some roll on "system 6" paint or "brush on wear pads" from man of rubber and lay it on thick. Get the urethane for hyplon and your groovy.. </thread> go boating.

After checking out NRS's repair page, what about clifton hypalon adhesive or the raft sealant kit (liquid urethane)? I'm not sure if the Stabond will adhere to my hypalon boat, it says it's for PVC and urethane. Common people let your know how poor in.

This is just a guess.. You will need to either staybond a patch over the urethane or peel/abraid the uretane and then patch the hypalon. Then recoat the urethane

Or just abraid the urethane and recoat

Or use island marine sealant inside the tube

What idahofloater said!!! Don't make this any harder that it needs to be. Raft sealant is a waste of money on your first attempt. You need a large indoor work area with constant heat, ventalation, and a knowelege of how the latex will cure. Avatard is just that a cat boater. Everything is easier on a cat boat so retarted ppl float them. Sealant works easier on cat tube that a raft because of the tube shape. Above you stated that it was a old boat, a "pin hole" leak and it was on the bottem? right. If that is ture, then; if this was my boat, I'd use brush on wear pads

Raft & Inflatable Boat Brush-On Wearpad - 1 lb. Kit - Man of Rubber, Inc.

or hyplon paint

Urethane Coating for Hypalon Boats & Material - Man of Rubber, Inc.

Both are much easier to use for the first time user. Done both been there. good luck

yo man. so i've found that staybond is the best adhesive for hypalon. it'll work great for both the hypalon and the urethane coating. clifton is shit. and shore doesn't really work that great either. scour the urethane area just like you do the hypalon before you start gluing.
