Palm Dry-pants from REI

I just got my dry pants from REI. THey have the Palm on sale at their outlet store. They look really good. Thinking about getting the Palm Dry top from REI too. They have it for ~$150, which seems a pretty good deal for a dry top.

Any comments on Palm wear quality and durability?

That price kinda peeked my interest as well, no experience with them.

The USA site seems broke, but bet they are same product as sold in Europe.

The socks seem to be some kind of thick nylon like Cordure and treated with some waterproof white coating thing.

I really hope I don't get to "need" them this season (a.k. swimming). Knock on wood.

palm dry pants

Well, I took the plunge and ordered a pair today.

They look pretty good on the web page.

Who knows, I will post more when they get here

palm dry pants followup

Got the palm dry pants.

no chance yet to try them out in the water, will do that soon.

in the meantime, gave them a close inspection. They look really well made and this REI sale looks good to me.

The fit is pretty much true to form from all the other splash pants I have had over the years.

Got the dry-top as well, looks like a good mid-weight option. Not as thick as some I've seen, but definitely an upgrade from my cheapo single layer dry top I got when I started.

Now I just need the river to flow so I can give then a field test.

Ya, good choice on picking them up. If they crap out early, just utilize REI's 100% satisfaction return policy and get your money back.

Review:

Used them dry pants and dry top on Waterton. They rock. Of course any class III water might not be the extreme test environment. But I walked in the water for a bit, did a couple of rolls, etc. and the combination felt really good. Better than my cheapo Kokatat dry top for sure.

Summary: as good as anything out there. Recommend.
