Nomad 8.5 vs JK Megarocker

Discounting the obvious size difference can these 2 boats be compared in low to med vol. cl 3/4 runs? Ease of ferrying, catching eddies, ease of rolling etc .
I am sure they both boof well enough.

Not concerned about outfitting or overnight/ self support loading.

Appreciate any insight into this.

The Mega Rocker is a tank, in comparison. The design differences are enough to that you should look to demo one as a comparison to your Nomad

Said by both of the respondents, but Nomad all the way. There's a reason you don't see very many megrockers out there.

The Mega Rocker was good at bombing down and staying on top of the mank, and boofing. Other than that, your Nomad, (like mentioned before) is a far superior boat.

The Rocker series in general is widely regarded as one of the worst creek designs ever, along with first gen Hero series. It took Jackson a while to get the creek boats figured out. That being said I paddle a 2013 Super Hero and love it.
