Need some input from fellow "buzzards"

I am considering selling my J/K Fun (always seemed a little small). Either looking at a J/K 4 Fun or the Pyranha Verun. According to the Veruns' specs, I am at the upper limit on weight with the medium and at the lower limit on the large. I'm 5'8'' and 178#. Question: when faced with this problem, is it better to go with the medium in a boat and set lower in the water or go with the large and trim out a little higher on the water. Which scenario affects the handling the most?

I used to say base it on what you will use it most for, river running and play=larger boat, mostly play would recommend the smaller. Any more though I am not sure that applies as much, especially with the aerial goals of some you want more volume. A smaller boat will be easier to "throw around" but could be affected more by currents with the edges more engaged. If you can demo...
