Minime thwart

Just wondering..has anyone taken the thwart out of their minime? Overnighting on RubyHorsethief and wondering if I should pull that out, place a cooler there with a paco then have my eight year old sit on it..and pushed forward a bit..So two adults and kid..some of our stuff will be on another boat but need to have some room for warm stuff and a cooler. We will be paddling it. Advice please?

I pull out my thwart when I put a row frame on my mini me. I take a Frontier Play captain's box, and put it in front of my kick bar. If I have a second person in the raft, I pull the frame and dry box back, so they can sit on the dry box. I have seen someone else take out their thwart and put in a cooler to sit on while rowing. They put the pin back in the boat side knuckle and ran a cam strap through it for the cooler strap down.

Don't think you will have any trouble. Just tie the cooler down so it does not rock back and forth. Saw a guide with a client on a cooler in a mini last Sunday. They had no problems running the Gunny Gorge.
