Kayak Paddle Thoughts?
I am in the market for a new paddle as I took a chip out of my blade this fall and I need some advice. I am a class III-IV- boater who does about 60% play 40% river running (20+ days on the water a year). Basically a rec paddler who does not get into anything too crazy. I have paddled the last four years on a $90 Carlisle, so I am not use to anything impresive.
After looking I am considering the Sawyer Copperhead, but cant find much feedback on them (There website is out of date) or information about warranty coverage. The reason I am considering this paddle is price point with respect to Werner and AT. It would seem to be a pretty good quality paddle for a lower price ($300) but the only info I can find is from reps (who get a free replacement if they break one). Anyone have any experience with these or feedback? My prefrence is for a paddle with a little forgivenise in it and I like the thought of a bent shaft but don't know how they translate for play. Also have heard that most makers are going to 30% instead of 45% offsets, any constructive thoughts are appreciated.
