Jitsu-ers - Size Help! (Sorry)

Ahoy,

I'm in the market for a playboat. I'm sort of in po-dunk territory in terms of being able to demo.

I know i much prefer Dagger outfitting, so I'm leaning hard toward the Jitsu.

My inseam is 33 1/2" and I'm about 145#'s. I sat in a 5.5 recently and was shocked that I could fit in it even more comfortably than my Project 52. Was this a fluke? I'm almost *positive* it was the 5.5 (but I was in CO, so *maybe* I was high?)

Anyhow, I can get a great deal on a 5.5, but it will have to be shipped. Should I hold out for the 5.9? I hear mixed reviews - the max weight range for the 5.5 is 155#s, and the minimum for the 5.9 is 140. Some say - get the smallest boat you can fit into, while others advise to size up.

What say you sage buzzards?

Thank you!!!

Check out the North Idaho Whitewater Boating Group on Facebook. There's a guy in CDA selling a 5.5. He's a nice guy, I bet he would let you paddle it to get a better idea.

You're awesome - you're totally right - Mr. Grubb would more than likely be super cool in letting me take his for a spin! (But, I can't afford to buy his right now and I'd feel like a jerk trying his to buy another one. Ha) But... i do prefer the red to the orange one I'm looking at so... if he happens to drop the price in the while I'm drumming up info/input, then maybe it will all work out smashingly. Thank youfindellw!

Corbin Park is in. Go now if you haven't surfed it.
