Jackson rockstar

Ive been kayaking for 2 year but am very comfortable with it so far. I'm looking into getting a white water kayak, I'm mostly going to be running rivers. I was going to get a Jackson rock star because most threads I've read it's harder at first but better in the long run and also you won't get bored as easily. Is it a good idea to start off in a rockstar for river running ?

Also need to know what size I'm about 5'6" -5'7" and maybe 180-200 lbs. I've tried the small and it was way to tight and I could barley get my knees in

Can you roll? I'm not sure I'd go with a pure playboat, especially the Rockstar which is especially tippy without a roll. You'd likely get sick of swimming all the time and quit.

If you have a roll, then it may be enjoyable, but I'd probably stick with an All Star instead, as it is a pure playboat, without the added tippiness of the raise seat position. You may also consider a 4Fun or Fun that is a little bit in the middle, yet still surfs pretty well.

You don't want to find yourself swimming a lot early on, or you may give up.

I haven't tried to roll yet this being my first actual white water kayak. I've heard they are hard to roll but I'm committed and will practice until I get it down. Maybe I'll check out the fun

Personally, I'd just recommend getting something used/cheap yet easy to paddle. If you buy used, you can afford to replace it once you get a better idea on what you want after you pick up on the basics.
