Is this it a good idea?? 14' Sotar Adventure... PVC

I've confirmed it with Sotar they made a few PVC model rafts in the mid 90's. This particular raft is self bailing and bought new in 1999, it's in great shape and was used very little. The material is 40oz PVC, with welded seams and it was stored inside rolled up for the majority of it's life.

Sotar claims that back in the day it competed with aire as far as quality and price point. It's located on the other side of the country so I can't see it first hand however it looks great in the pics and holds air. It's priced right and comes as a quality package, my concern relates more to the longevity of PVC and that is been stored for 10 years, could i be looking at a ton of pin hole?

Or should i pay a bit more a buy a aire tributary package or vanguard?

Personally I'd pass. Sotar doesn't make PVC boats any longer, so even while they made some I'd be leery of a product they made that they didn't stick with. And supposedly they had some build problems back in the day, but I'm not sure of the time frame or if it was specific to their PVC product. Given those two points, I wouldn't buy it unless I could put my hands on it first.

Yeah, I would pass. Pinholes are a real issue on PVC and they can't be detected in photos. Buying a used raft is risky enough but I would prefer to see PVC in person. There are good ways to roll a raft and bad ways.

If it had been stored inflated most of the time it may be a different story. I would consider a different used boat or go with a new one like you mentioned.
