Is this frame worth it?

Just got a new 14' RMR and was planning on running it as a paddleboat all season until I found the (hopefully) attached frame on craigslist. My ideal frame right now is an NRS Longhorn, so the shape and size of this fits the bill, but is it worth the $175 the seller wants? It's 1.5" outside diameter welded steel. Obviously needs some sanding and repainting. My biggest concern is adapting it over time. For example, how would you go about adding a tractor seat to replace the slant board? Should I just suck it up and wait to find sometime more compatible? Any input is welcome. Thanks.

My thought too, just wanted to make sure I wasn't completely off-base.

That guy has been trying to sell that frame on CL along with his steaming pile of rafts and junk frames for at least five years now. None of his stuff is worth what he is asking for it.

Don't pay more than $5.00 for that thing, especially when there are options like this out there: Raft frame, Cataraft, Cataraft frame, Rowframe, and Whitewater Equipment

I don't have one of their frames, nor have I ever worked with Gary, but I hear he does nice work and his prices seem more than fair.

What a piece of shi....junk.

If he wants to give it to you that would be all right. How are you supposed to mount your oar locks??

Looks like a stern frame. If you plan on guiding from the center of the boat I would not get this at all.

Thanks for the completely consistent feedback. I had a hunch, but figured I'd see what everyone else thought.

I hadn't seen Gary's website before, but his prices are great and he's local. Does anyone have any experience ordering from them, using their gear?

If that were mine I would give it to someone I don't like.
