Homemade Cataraft Tube Paddlecat

At gauleyfest we saw a paddlecat made out of 2 sotar 14' tubes. I didn't get a good look at the construction but there was no frame. Any beta?

found it

I found the pics of the guys R2ing this thing. It looks pretty freakin' simple:
-2"x8"Wx8'L floor with holes drilled for 3 cam straps on each tube
-2x8 thwart/transom in the stern and the bow connected with cam straps on each tube. (think of a Hurley symbol as viewed from the front).
-two foot cones off-set (one paddles sits farther forward than the other)

The trick is how to connect the thwart/transom thingamajiggers to the floor. Im sure some webbing tied in fused knots would work and give a little flex. I'll post some picks if i make this beast soon.

Really curious. Were the pics on leisuresportsphoto.com? If so what day and time, upper or lower?

The guy with this contraption has camped next to us the last 2 years at the Upper G put-in. Pretty sure he's from New York. His boat has picked up the name Camel Toe for reasons you can figure out on your own, and it's amazingly stable thru everything. Rooster's description of his "frame" is pretty accurate, but he doesn't use straps to attach the tubes to his frame. He has heavy metal eyelets screwed into the wood, and uses locking caribiners to attach those to the d-rings. I've contemplated several times copying his setup, but then I remember that I like carrying a huge cooler with lots of beer. Someday... maybe. Here's a pic of his rig below Pillow.

Thats really cool, looks like the width ends up being about the same as a shredder but with big friggin tubes.

the pics are on leisuresports : upper gauley 9/18 pillow rock around 1230. I'm not sure about the exact time but his boat is on the first page of pics. Long live the camel toe
