Guidance needed for new skirt

After four implosions during my last sessions, I decided it was time for a new skirt. I'm currently paddling a 2011 rockstar with an older IR shockwave. One problem I have noticed is that the tunnel does not seem to be set back towards the stern enough. This causes stretching in the front of the tunnel and bunching of material in the back.
I am currently looking at rand skirts such as the Lucky Charm, or the Bombshelter.
Any thoughts?

Rock the lucky charm I use it on my Jitsu use a special K on my remix co. There is a lot to be said for a randed skirt. Hard to get on at first but easier then a bungee once streched. My opinion.

Thanks for the advice. I also just looked at the Royale. Is this overkill for a class III pladdler? Would the added dryness be worth the extra money?

Paying for a quality skirt is worth the money. Many times the skirt is the weak spot in people's gear that leaks..... drop a little extra on the skirt. It will stick with you for several boats. I still haven't worn out my first skirt, a Mountain Surf Dur-O-Ring.... unfortunately they don't make them any more. I use a Lucky Charm for my creek boat, awesome piece of equipment.... the Klingon is also a good option.

I also want to get the best fit possible. For a rockstar med I'm not sure if I should go with a large or XL cockpit size, as the rockstar is inbetween. I'm also a 30 waist which is between a S and a L tunnels size.

I'm a 30 waist and I got the small. I also have a med rockstar and have the xl deck. It's nice for extra inflation but has yet to implode on me.

My .02..... buy the large cockpit and medium tunnel. Leave the skirt on the boat for 2-3 days before you use it to stretch it. Better to have a tight skirt. Medium tunnel because it will still fit if you put on a couple pounds and you can tighten it down with the velcro tunnel on your drytop.
