Fashion/Safety advice

I'm thinking about getting a new drytop and Pfd this season. I was considering getting both in Black. I mentioned it to a buddy and he mentioned that it would be hard to see a body in the river so brighter colors would be better. I like the idea that black would absorb more heat. I can roll if I'm hot. My current helmet is black as well and will probably be replaced next season. Thoughts?

Wear bright colors. I have the same trouble in that black is a slimming color for me, but I would rather look fat and be seen than look skinny and not.

Make sure your gear looks good in photos. That's what's important.

Bright colors. If you are trying to get my attention from way down river for example, you want me to see you!

The Kokotat highway orange color, is pretty gawdy, but really obvious and easy to see. I think it's worth looking goofy to stand out for safety.

J, you look slim in black?

Black on black on black? Fucking ninja. If you're cold put a warmer layer on or get a drysuit. Rivers are usually in canyons anyways where direct sun isn't the norm. Safe bet is bright colors.

Ok. Brighter colors is the way to go. Thanks for the feedback. I didn't really think about trying to get someone's attention. I was thinking more like Johnny Cash than Ninja.
