Custom Wood Paddle

So I have convinced myself that I want one of these, and sold myself on the design by Blunt family paddles. Sadly today got a response that they are not in production and hope to be again but try back later.

I have searched these threads and there is great information:

But they are dated, Backlund has passed, Blunt is out, so all I can find is Jim Snyder:

and Pot Hole Paddles:

Would really love to hear about Brandy's paddles - I just talked to him and he is still in business and sounds like a quality old school guy. But this is a large chunk of coin and I have never seen one. Or anyone know of any other guys doing quality work?

I can vouch for Brandy's paddles. Fantastic pieces. He will make pretty much any blade shape you like and will make bent shafts, too. I believe Snyder only makes straight shafts with the tear drop blades (no power face), but I could be wrong.

I will be in Steamboat in a couple weeks and would be happy to bring mine along if you'd like to see it. Or if you plan to be in the Golden area before then, hit me up.

Check out my friend's work here.

I have a helmet made by him and he's making me a paddle very soon.

Wow, those wooden helmets are sweet. They make me want to run shuttle perched atop a Penny Farthing or pick up squirt boating.

I have a Jimistyx from several years ago in my garage. I still use it for squirt boating but that is about it. PM me if you want to check it out some time as a point of reference.
