Creeking Shoes

I am looking for a new pair of creeking shoes. I used the Teva ones last year and other than the sole going to complete crap I really liked the shoe. In particular I like the platic plate in the sole that made walking sharp colorado rocks tollerable and I could fit in my playboat with them. I've looked at the Payette but have heard they wear smooth very quickly and do not provide a lot of protection from rocks.

Thoughts?

I like the Teva Avator 2, but I don't know if they make them anymore. The heels needed to be cut down with a razor to fit into my Burn M but they are the best shoes I've had for creeking. Great protection, warm, and they stick to wet rocks.

I wouldn't wear a shoe that would fit into my playboat if I'm looking for a creeking shoe. I have had foot injuries from swimming class V a few times so I look for an extra burly creeking shoe.

I don't know how many times I have to tell ya...

You've gone through two pairs of shoes while I'm still walking about in these.

I think they are the best river shoe out there.

5.10

I keep reading about 5.10 Canyoneers being the ideal creeking shoe due to its sticky sole. Never had a pair but thinking about ordering them.

Anybody know if these shoes run large or small to US shoe sizes?

I normally wear 10 1/2 4e shoes. I ordered size 12 Canyoneers and wear them with 2 mm neoprene socks. They fit great. I haven't kayaked for a long time so I am not an expert, but they may be a bit big and clunky to wear inside a kayak.

Is it just me or does Vibram SUCK when its wet? It's great as a durable hiking tread, but for river shoes, I think it's slippy.
