Couple of good dry and semi-dry box options at Jax in Lafayette

I just picked up one of these on sale at the Grand opening of Jax in Lafayette:

Usually $90 - they have it as a grand opening special - today only - for $50. Looks like it will fit in one of my bay drop bags perfectly. Not a true drybox, but it has a foam gasket.

They also have a plastic / composite Army drybox made for missiles(!) for I think $45. I almost got one of those on principle; but it won't fit into my configuration. Might be a good inexpensive option for someone who doesn't quite have the scratch for an aluminum box. My first drybox was a surplus radio drybox that worked for years.

Thought I'd pass those along.

That looks like a great option for a cheap semi dry box. I'm using a second cooler right now, knowing anything that's in there isn't going to stay dry, but at least it protects it and the boat.

Where in Lafayette is Jax's located at, In the 70's I flew helicopters out of Erie Air Park, next to the city of Lafayette , is it down that main road. Looks like a great river box, what else do they carry?

Interesting idea. I was wondering if anyone was using a truck tool box for a rowing seat/platform and for storage. Wouldn't be dry, but very convenient and an excellent use of space.
