convert HD mp4 to smaller format?

I've got some video shot in HD mp4 that is apparently too big to upload to Webshots. Anybody know of a file conversion program (free) that will work?

I use AVS Video Editor...was free as I recall, and it allows you to export/save into just about any size/format.

I use Any Video Converter as well. You can also change frame rates, etc to keep the same format but decrease file size. Not bad for free software.

I use handbrake, it's free and very easy to use, and has no size limits. It's also very much easier to use than movie maker and doesn't involve any preview operations.

While there isn't any "resize to smaller format" function as such, re-encoding the video in any of the predefined web ready formats and changing the audio codec from raw to AAC or AC3 codec has always been enough to get the videos about half the size they are when they come off the gopro HD.

HandBrake
