Canyon Coolers

Anyone tried them out on a trip? How do they compare to Icy Cools/Engels?

A long, sad, and kinda funny story is in play here. Icee-Cool became Icee-Tek, which became Galaxy, and now it is Canyon. Each of them is a different owner, but the underlying product is basically continuous.

So why does the company keep changing hands. I am looking at getting one of these. They seem comparable in durability, quality, ice retention, etc. to yetti or engels. I used one for 24 days on the grand and it kept ice for longer then I needed it to. The cooler it self was very sturdy and seemed well built.

The owner of Galaxy was a guy called "Party Marty" and he doesn't enjoy the best reputation in these parts. The guys at Canyon appear to be rock solid in my multiple interactions with them. The coolers themselves are fantastic and attract compliments. I had one guy open and close the lid about eight times - alcohol was involved - just to hear the thunk when it closed.

Glad to have an updated thread on these coolers. I have been looking at them, as they have a cooler size that might be a good fit for my Cat frame. I know there were lengthy threads in the past about quality/customer service problems. Sounds like the new ownership is working hard to repair the reputation. More comments from folks who have used these coolers recently is appreciated. I like that they offer a wide variety of cooler shapes & sizes.

Canyon Coolers is good to go. I doubt you'll find a better product and you will not find better customer relations anywhere.

I bought a new cooler from these guys a few months ago, and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with Jason again. I'm very happy with the cooler, the customer service was stellar, and I'm looking forward to putting it in the new boat next season.

Which models are people purchasing for their rafts? I can't seem to find the "traditional" raft sizes on their website.

I have a white version of the 160 pro grade, and the 128 long looks appropriate for smaller boats.

The "Sailor" 105 liter/111 quart for $199 looks like a good deal compared to the 128 quart "Bomber Box" at $349.
