Better wool?

Which is better? Merino wool blend aka performance wool or 100% virgin wool. Merino blend is 60%merino wool, 20%acrylic, 17%nylon, 3%lycra.

100% virgin wool, when wet, definitely helps retain body warmth...but, it feels heavy. Merino wool blend, also good at keeping you warm, feels lighter when wet (better wicking properties), tends to dry faster (depending on temp, humidity), and because of the acrylic, nylon and lycra, keeps the shape of the item. If you are talking socks,
consider neoprene?

Even though I like vigin wool it's not as comfortable or a effective in wicking and drying as blends and holds up better to washing and wearing longer ...
