Best Older Model Creekers

I'm looking to get a used creeker. Assuming it hasn't been abused, I'm looking for an older model boat +/- 3-6yrs that will get the job done. There's plenty of hype about the new boats but all the big names were getting it done several years ago with the boats of the day. So what were those boats? Aside from plastic issues can anyone really fault the boat design? What was the best creeker 3-6yrs ago?

I'm 5-10, 155 on a good day. I've paddled an Embudo and a CFS. Liked the Embudo but wasn't impressed with the CFS.

Good luck finding somebody who wants to part with theirs. Great design, idestructible...weighs almost as much as you though.
I hope in the future Americans are thought of as a warlike, vicious people, because I bet a lot of high schools would pick "Americans" as their mascot. -Jack Handy

won't he be swallowed up in a blunt? i'm 165 in a salto and love it. i was under the impression that the blunt is bigger than the old model salto.

quick search:

Kayak Models 2001

salto 8', 66 gallons; blunt 8'2", 76 gallons

The Prijon Cross at your weight would be great. Fast like the Embudo, but alot eaiser to turn, pluss better bow rocker.

I haven't tried a lot of other creekers, but I have a wavesport mutant. Probably the ugliest boat ever made, but I love it and just about everyone I've talked to who has one says they love 'um too. I'm 6' 160 pounds and feel great in it.

Micro..(not the really old v-hull) 2nd choice would be Blunt..
I'm on my 3rd Micro, they see some hard use, so its hard to say if the plastic is suspect, but usually last a couple seasons...
Blunt..pretty bomber plastic, mabey thats why theyre so heavy
I know a few guys your size still paddling their Phats as well,

I have to throw in my vote for the Prijon's. I've been rolling in a Creeker 225 for about 5 seasons, similar height and weight. Perhaps a little less volume than desired resulting in slow resurfacing in holes. But manuverability on tight fast stuff is pretty damn good and the plastic doesn't care to much if you hit the rocks. I just got a good deal on a Jefe so I'll be transitioning a bit this year but I think the creeker is still going to be the boat to come out when I need to run fast tight mank.
