Barrel Pump Pooped the Bed

So, my 5" NRS Barrel Pump up and stopped working the other day. Feels like the seal has come apart as the plunger has no resistance and kind of wiggles around in the tube now.
Am I screwed? Anyone have any quick fix advice?

Have you taken the top off to see what's up inside? It may be an O-ring problem. There should be a spare O-ring inside the pump barrel. There's a pump maintenance video on the NRS website you can look at. It's a K-pump video, but some info translates to all pumps. That pump has a 5 year warranty from NRS. Call them up and see if you can send it back for an exchange if it's not an easy fix. Good luck. Sucks when your gear "craps out."

I unscrewed the small screws in the sides of the top, but was hesitant to start cranking on it as it didn't just "pop off". Anyone know if that lid is sealed somehow or should I just be able to twist it of?

Spoke with NRS. Think I got all of the directions I need to thoroughly jack it up some more.
Thanks for the replies.

Good luck. Hopefully NRS will stand behind their product if you can't fix it.

It's an NRS pump, don't expect it to last long

I have the same pump and the lub that it comes with on the o-ring gums up, and as likely in your case, the o-ring rolled off of the supports that hold it in place to seal. I use an orange-type degreaser and clean the whole inside well and the oring, dry it, then use spray silicone on the ring and interior. spray silicone on the inside of the lid before you slide it on and it will go on pretty easy.
Cheers

I'm pretty sure you are not supposed to use any silicone based products on hypalon boats, especially in your pump as some may end up inside your tubes.

I poured out the sand and sprayed Pam into the hole.
